GOT SCREWED OVER

Incompetent. Paid 5800 for a 85 dollar fine worst experience ever
I hired these guys to handle a criminal traffic charge that I should never have faced. I was told that the crown wanted a 30-day jail term, but they negotiated it down to 21 days (for an HTA charge) and they were ready to accept that.
Even when I indicated my desire to transfer to a different court that would better address my needs and those of my people (who are indigenous), I was told outright that it would not influence the outcome. So, they did not assist me in getting into the indigenous courts. I ended up firing these services and enlisted a new lawyer who easily maneuvered me into the proper court. In the end, I was given an $85 fine with no license suspension, and the charge I originally hired them to handle was dismissed.
Xcopper took my money and seemed content with me going to jail without putting up a fight.
How can a situation go from a 21-day jail term to an $85 fine? I was told that being in the right court would not help the outcome when it clearly did.

Upon initial consultation- was advised I had a complex case so I paid the $5600. A few weeks before my court date, the lawyer called and advised me that I should plead guilty. I couldve pled guilty for free, where was my $5600 going?
I was given a handful of silly explanations when I asked why take my money?
I would recommend contacting a local lawyer, somebody that has the time to invest in your case, and will be honest with you upfront!

I was totally disappointed
A policeman gave me a ticket for not completely stopping on stop sign, whereas, I stopped and that's what I told xcopper. They charged me more than $350 for fighting the case.
I contacted them on July 2022 and I did not hear from them for many days meanwhile I kept asking about my status but didn't get any positive response from them. On November 27, 2023 I received an email from them that I have to pay $80 which is full payment of my ticket with my two demerit points.
This is very clear to me that they did nothing and I wasted my time and money. I strongly recommend that never contact them for the traffic tickets resolutions.
I am completely disappointed. I wish if I would have a little time to fight my own case :(, I would never contact them.

/took money, didnt do the job. Heared from them once before hearing.
At hearing he said to plead guilty and then judge said wait, I have another email here, your charges will be dropped to careless from dui. Would have ended up with criminal charge after blowing 101 if the other person wasnt on the ball.

Not much communication promised a lot but never came through! Very disappointed
First I'm charge for a drinking and driving. We went to x-coppers, young I didn't know who to turn to for legal support they were supportive on the first call confident they could handle my case.
Assigned a lawyer Peter?. This lawyer never contacted me for 3 months. I had to pay up front $6,000 had to! Gave me hopes but never came through.
Called in sick the day of my court case which pushed my court case further and further away very frustrated very disappointed. If I would have known what I know now that the law is the law and they cannot help me. I would have saved my $9,000.
I would not recommend in this situation at all! Do not waste your money get legal help first it's free!

Failed to file my notice for a court date - convicted in absentia
The Burlington Ontario office failed to file my notice for a hearing for a speeding ticket, and I was convicted as charged. They totally dropped the ball.

Warning to the new clients!
X-Copper charges very high fee. They do not work hard to protect the client's interests.
Hire different paralegal service or lawyers. Save your hard earn money.

Pissed off ex-client
Jeff Seymour will tell you he will contact you on certain dates and very rarely ever does. Maybe 5 times out of 50.
I usually always have to contact him first. Makes false promises and sends another lawyer instead that looked like they just woke up and had no idea what they were doing. I was dressed better and a lot more prepared. Was about half an hour late and couldn't even find the right court room.
Won't be using them again.
Takes absolutely forever (years not months) which turns into a very painful experience. The second time being much worse.

Use Christina Ferreira at the Burlington office!
Christina calmed me down when I went in to talk to her. She was very knowledgeable about the procedure regarding my ticket (92/70) and the demerit points I was charged with.
She didn't paint a rosy picture that I would be cleared automatically, but she gave me hope and I went home hopeful. Then the day after the court case she called and said I was cleared of all charges.
OMG. I am so happy I went to X-Copper.

Appreciation
Last December I became a grandpa for the first time, and on my way to the hospital, I was stopped by the police at the intersection of Kennedy Lawrence, three tickets were issued; going through a red light, no insurance certificate, and expired license sticker.
Weeks earlier, my life was turned up-side-down for I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, subsequent vigorous treatments basically rendered things like insurance and sticker renewal unimportant at the time. Fighting traffic tickets are the last things I need at this juncture of my life.
I contacted X-coppers at Laird Dr, east Toronto, Heather Thompson handled my case.
From the very beginning, Heather conducted herself not only very professionally, but also with compassion and patience; listening carefully to my story, she did not promise me that she will win the case, but assured me that she will do her best to represent me in court.
In the following weeks, she kept me abreast of all the details in regards to my case, I could feel the confidence in her, let me tell you, that’s a pretty good feeling.
And the end results?
All tickets were dropped. Two thumbs up to Heather Thompson!!

Don't waste your Money
Far better with a free Public Defender. Very expensive for nothing in return but a bumbling speaker on your behalf.
Also, had to leave area where lived & have a meeting in Toronto. I was trying to follow case & had to pry info.out & then get it clarified many, many times.
Don't get sucked in.

2 yeas ago in 2017 , i got a speed ticket,when to court . they reduce it, in 2019 i got a red light , i got a solid case if ex-copper ask for the police video record, they just ask for written officer version, i provide to ex copper a lot of information & @ they end i paid more than if i will do it myself, it's all about cash.............

Worst lawyers ever. I meet with a paralegal who says that I have to sign a $5000 deal contract with him before I meet with my lawyer, half of which I paid before I met with the lawyer, Peter, who tells me to plead guilty-- there's no way to win.
So now I'm almost 5 grand out I tell him to fight it. They ask for another 3.5 grand for a total of $8500 to do trial which they lose. It wasn't even the worst case. I've met with the lawyer 2 times, he didn't prepare at all.
They just rob your money. Don't waste your time with these clowns.

I DID NOT REPORT BECAUSE THE ACCUSER NEVER TOUCHED ME.

THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE COLOR OF MY CAR RIGHT AND THE PARALEGAL NEVER BROUGHT THAT UP! IN ADDITION TO THE ROAD RAGE HE DISPLAYED(FINGER SIGN TO ME , A 73 YEAR YEAR OLD)
USELESS, RUDE STAFF. TOLD ME NOT TO APPEAL AND THAT I WAS GUILTY NO MATTER WHAT.

Scam is right. Should have asked how many years of experience the sales agent has in court.
It's all about Sales the company doesnt care what happens to you your drivers license or case.
The encourage plea not trials. Save your money hire someone who has experience it will save you money in the end

They sub off most of there files, the person you meet doesnt go to court for you Xcopper actually pays another firm to go to court. Be smart go somewhere else hire someone who cares about your case
